Photojournalist’s house bombed in Khulna


Unidentified miscreants hurled crude bombs at the house of a
photojournalist of a local daily in the city’s Khalishpur area on Wednesday.
Police said some miscreants threw three crude bombs one after another
at the house of photojournalist RG Ujjal of Somoyer Khabor, published
from the district, on no 104 road of the area around 7:15pm and fled
hurriedly while his wife Urmi was teaching the couple’s son, creating
a panicky situation in the area.However, none was hurt in the attack.
On information, police visited the spot and collected samples from the scene.
Ujjal alleged a photo showing an incident of vandalism by ward no 13
unit Awami League president SM Murhsed Ahmed along with his
accomplishes at Khulna Polytechnic Institute was published in his
newspaper on September 30.Since then, followers of Murshed had been threatening to give him a lesson.
Contacted, officer-in-charge of Khalishpur Police Station Sukumar
Bishwas said they were unaware who carried out the bomb attack, adding
they were looking into the matter.-UNB
