Pol consensus to accelerate Bangladesh’s uplift: China FM


Visiting Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi on Monday said Bangladesh’s journey towards progress will get further momentum as soon as it reaches a political consensus.
The Chinese Minister made the remark at a meeting with Raushon Ershad at Sonargaon Hotel in the city, said a Parliament Secretariat press release.
“Bangladesh will march towards progress as soon as a political consensus is ensured in the country, and the Opposition Leader can play a significant role in this regard,” it quoted Wang Yi as saying.Raushon Ershad urged the Chinese Minister to increase Chinese investment in Bangladesh’s infrastructure.
She hoped Bangladesh, China, India and Myanmar would work together in maintaining peace and achieving the desired development in the South Asia and Southeast Asia regions. A regional organisation for economic cooperation can be formed in this regard, she suggested.
Wang Yi assured that China will always stand beside Bangladesh in its development journey saying that China is interested to build industrial zones in the country.
