Police operation on militant JMB’s N’ganj hideout starts


Dhaka -The Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) unit of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) started busting a suspected den of banned militant outfit Jama’atul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) after its discovery in Sadar upazila of Narayanganj district early Saturday, UNB news agency reported.The officer-in-charge of Narayanganj Sadar Police Station told journalists, acting on a tip-off the DMP’s special unit unearthed the JMB den in a building at Paikpara beside ‘Boro Koborsthan’ (large graveyard) early in the morning and started an operation in the ‘militant hideout’.
In a somewhat similar raid on a hideout in capital Dhaka’s Kallyanpur area on July 26 early morning cordoned off a hideout in an apartment building.
Hours later a special team of DMP stormed the apartment, when a gunfight erupted killing nine suspected militants. Police arrested one Rakibul Hasan with gunshot wounds while he was trying to escape in that incident. – News Desk
