Popularisation of science and information and communication technology (ICT) based modern education among the young students has become imperative to further accelerate pace of national development.
The opinion came at concluding ceremony of a daylong Science Fair- 2016 organised by Chondipur Model High School authority in the campus under Pirgachha upazila here in association with Rangpur Government Teachers’ Training College on Thursday.
Students of the school set up separate stalls projecting different types of small-scale scientific innovations and ICT-based digitised technologies in the fair.
A large number of students, teachers, guardians, youths, public representatives, socio-cultural and political activists, professionals and elite visited different stalls set up on the fair ground.
Pirgachha Sadar union parisahd Chairman Mostafizur Rahman Reza attended the concluding ceremony as the chief guest with Headmaster of the school Shamsul Alam in the chair.
Chairman of the school governing committee Mohammad Akheruzzaman, Staff Reporter of Channel i- Merina Lovely, senior journalist Iqbal Hossain and President of Mahiganj Press Club Abul Hashem addressed the occasion special guests.
In their speeches, the speakers put maximum emphasis on spreading science- and ICT- based modern education for speeding up development in building a middle income digital Bangladesh by 2021 and a developed country by 2041.
Merina Lovely said that the advanced nations could achieve faster developments in all sectors through adopting science, technology-based education and digitised ICT in their educational institutions at all levels.
Mohammad Akheruzzaman suggested for popularising science-based education to provide knowledge on ICT-based technologies for flourishing creative abilities of the school students to attain prosperity in all spheres of national life.
The chief guest put special emphasis on spreading science education befitting for the 21st century in all educational institutions to attain self- sufficiency in all spheres of national economy like the advanced nations.
“There is no alternative to enrich science education for attaining sustainable national prosperity in all perspectives through giving maximum importance to science, technology and knowledge-based education and skills,” he said, reports BSS from Rangpur.
