Prince Charles: Princes William, Harry inherited my dance moves

Prince Charles is taking credit for sons Prince William and Prince Harry’s dance moves — whether or not they want him to! In 1974, nearly 40 years ago, Prince Charles spoke to The Australian Women’s Weekly about his love of dancing. “If I hear rhythmic music, I just want to get up and dance,” he said at the time. Now, the 64-year-old royal tells the October issue of the magazine that he still enjoys slipping on his dancing shoes, but admits his moves may be a little rusty.“It’s slightly less becoming once you get to my age,” he says. “I think given half a chance though, the old one-two and the two-step can come in handy. I’m glad to say that both my sons have inherited it, I think.”
“They’re very good,” Prince Charles adds of his sons with the late Princess Diana. “They do make me laugh when they get going.” (Princess Diana, who passed away in 1997, was famously photographed showing off her graceful dance moves with actor John Travolta at the 1985 White House dinner.)
Prince William, 31, and Prince Harry, 29, are never too shy to bust a move on the dance floor at events. During a reception at Centrepoint’s Camberwell Foyer in December 2011 in London, Prince William was spotted dancing and doing Jay Z’s “Dirt Off Your Shoulder” move, with wife Kate Middleton laughing as she looked on.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge welcomed their first child, son Prince George, in July. Though the little prince may inherit his grandfather’s dance moves too, Prince William told reporters one day after his birth that he takes after Middleton, 31. “He’s got her looks, thankfully,” he joked.
