Rafiq-ul-Haq assures legal aid to Salahuddin’s wife

Eminent jurist Barrister Rafique-ul-Haq yesterday assured Hasina Ahmed, wife of untraced BNP joint secretary general Salahuddin Ahmed that he would stand by the family and give her legal assistance.
He made the assurance when he met Hasina Ahmed at her Gulshan residence on Saturday in the afternoon.
“I will definitely remain present at the High Court during the hearing of a petition in this regard on April 8. It cannot be accepted that a citizen like Salahuddin will be vanished and none can give his whereabouts,” he told reporters after the meeting.
Barrister Haq heard the entire episode as to how Salahuddin Ahmed went missing and enquired about the lawyers of the case.
“As I read in newspapers after the missing episode, Salahuddin made telephone calls to her wife twice, but his wife informed me she did not receive any phone from her husband. Then, what happened to him? he asked.”
Barrister Haq said might be Salahuddin is alive and we will find him. “We are also fearing whether he faced fate like another BNP leader Ilyas Ali,” he added.
Hasina Ahmed said she is cent per cent sure that law enforcers have taken her husband away from a residence at Uttara.
“I’m repeatedly urging the Prime Minister to find out my husband but still I do not have his whereabouts,” she said. – Staff Reporter
