Railway employee murdered for ticket sale proceeds

Miscreants decamped with nearly Tk 1.7 million collected sale of tickets after murdering a railway employee at Dhaka’s Kamlapur railway
station.
Md Israfil (55), staff on contract in the railways, was found dead Saturday morning.
Police say he had been strangled to death.
Kamplapur Railway Police’s ASI Sirajul Islam told Journalists that the body was recovered from a make-shift ticket-selling counter.
“He had been sleeping in a small room beside the counter.”
Railways minister Majibul Haque visited Kamlapur railway station and ordered an immediate probe.
“Ticket sale proceeds worth Tk 1.7 million have been taken away from Israfil,” said the railway ministry’s spokesman Md Shariful Alam.
He said ten security personnel have been suspended over the incident, A three member probe committee headed by railway ministry’s joint
secretary Shashi Kumar Singh has been formed to probe the matter, Alam said.
Bangladesh Railway formed another committee headed by its chief commercial officer Belal Uddin to investigate the murder and loot. – Agencies
