‘Drug addict’ friend hacks him to death in Chapainawabganj
Chapainawabganj, Jan 11 – A young man was hacked to death allegedly by his friend in Rohanpur municipality area of Gomastapur Upazila on Friday afternoon allegedly for refusing his proposal to get involved in drug peddling.
The deceased was identified as Rajon Biswas, 22, son of Md Amin of the area. Locals said drug addict Ashique, 20, son of Masud Ali of the area, got involved in Yaba trade recently and he tried to involve his friend Rajon in the drug peddling which he refused. The refusal led to enmity between them.
As a sequel of the dispute, Ashique swooped on Rajon at Nimtala near Rohanpur Railway Station around 2 pm and chopped him with a sharp weapon, leaving him critically injured.
The injured was taken to Upazila health complex where doctors referred him to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital. However, he died on the way to a hospital around 4 pm.
Police recovered the body and sent it to Chapainawabganj Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy, said in-charge Mahtab Uddin of Rohanpur police investigation centre.
