Eight million cubic feet of gas has been added to the national grid from the Brahmanbaria-24 well of the Titas gas field.

Eight million cubic feet of gas has been added to the national grid from the Brahmanbaria-24 well of the Titas gas field.

The gas was supplied to the Gas Transmission Company Limited (GTCL) pipeline on Friday (June 9).

Bangladesh Gas Fields Company Limited (BGFLC) sources said the drilling tasks at Brahmanbaria's Titas gas field well No. 24 was started in 2016. A Chinese company called Sinopac started the excavation. But on January 2, 2021, the experimental gas extraction was stopped due to a technical fault.

Later, Bangladesh Petroleum Exploration and Production (BAPEX) found gas reserves by conducting exploration in that well.

BGFLC Director General (admin) Mahmudun Nabi Milon confirmed the matter.
