Bangladesh quick Mohammad Rubel Hossain may even face punishment after being dropped from the central contract for not following injury rehabilitation guidelines.Bangladesh Cricket Board President Nazmul Hassan told reporters after a meeting at the National Cricket Stadium on Monday that Rubel had been excluded from the new central contract for the time being.“Everyone but Rubel in the previous contract stays (in the new contract). He has not followed the injury rehabilitation guidelines he was given,” he said.
The pacer was dropped from all international matches in July last year due to injury. He suffered injury again while playing a match in India in September.After recovering from the injury, Rubel played six matches for Sylhet Superstars in BPL. He has been out of all matches since December.Hassan said the pacer would be served a show-cause notice.“No one has been selected in his place. He will be able to get in the (central) contract if he can come up with a satisfactory reply. Otherwise he will be dropped,” he said.
