Dhaka – South Africa bundled out Bangladesh cheaply for 90 runs in the 2nd innings inside the 1st session of the final day at Senwes Park in Potchefstroom on Monday to register a 333-run victory in the 1st Test.The Tigers, needing 376 runs on Day-5, resumed the 2nd innings with their overnight score of 49/3 in 15.3 overs and finished on 90/10 in 32.4 overs.They lost their seven wickets within a 83-minute span in the final day’s 1st session to add just 41 runs more with their previous collection playing 17.1 overs where Mehedi Hasan Miraz (15*) was the only batsman who could manage a double digit figure.South African bowlers Kagiso Rabada and Keshav Maharaj captured three wickets each on the final day while another wicket was through run out.Bangladesh were skittled for below 100 against South Africa for the first time in their 11 Test meetings since their 1st battle in October 2002. This was also the first time in 10 years since July 2007 that Bangladesh were all out in an innings for the double digit figure.Maharaj captured four wickets for 25 runs while Rabada bagged three for 33 and Morne Morkel took two for 19 runs in the 2nd innings.With this victory, South Africa took a 1-0 in the two-match series and secured 9th Test victory against Bangladesh.South Africa declared both the innings (496/3-d and 247/6-d) while Bangladesh lost all wickets twice in the match for 320 and 90 runs in the 1st and 2nd innings respectively.Bangladesh will face the hosts in the 2nd Test of the series at Mangaung Oval, Bloemfontein starting on Friday (October 6).
