Most of the enter-district buses refrained from leaving Saidabad bus terminal as Bangladesh Sarak Paribahan Sramik Union (BSPSU) has been enforcing 12-hours strike from 6:00 am on Tuesday.The BSPSU enforced the 12-hours strike following Monday’s clashes between BSPSU and Dhaka Sarak Paribahan Sramik Union (DSPSU) over possession of an office Gulistan near Bangabhaban. The office was under BSPSU’s control. Clashes but DSPSU occupied it on Sunday night.
Witnesses said no enter-district bus counter of Saidabad was opened. Similarly vary few buses enter inside the city through Jatrabari creating a lot of sufferings of the passangers. However, BRTC buses were seeing plying through the area.
Officer-in-charge of Jatrbari police station Arifur Rahman said enter-district buses were refrained from plying through Jatrabari from the morning following the transports workers’ strike. “Initiative has already been underway to resume the plying of enter-district buses very soon,” the OC said.
