Saudi Arabia wants irregular Bangladeshis to return home

Dhaka – Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Golam Moshi has called upon the irregular Bangladeshis living in the kingdom to return home, saying that they will not face any problem in coming back in future legally.He also urged the Bangladeshi expatriates not to tarnish the image of the country through involvement with illegal activities.
The envoy was speaking at a view-exchange meeting in Saudi eastern province of Dammam organised by expatriates from Sonargaon, Narayanganj and Bangladesh Society, Dammam on Thursday, according to a press release forwarded by the embassy in Riyadh on Friday.
“Through your work, the image of Bangladesh will be brightened on the face of the world,” he was quoted as saying.
Mentioning the enormous contribution of the expatriates in the country’s economy through sending remittance, Moshi said that efforts are on as to how remittance can be sent more easily.
In this regard, he said that the government has already given permission to two private banks for opening branches in Saudi Arabia and following the completion of all the formalities these branches will start operating soon.
The ambassador also said that he is trying to get life insurance cover for the expatriates and that his embassy is trying its best to ensure the availability of passports for the Bangladeshis as it is their right. – Staff Reporter
