Schoolteacher killed over land in Magura


Dhaka – A schoolteacher was hacked to death by his rival over a land-related dispute at Police Line Paschim Para in Sadar upazila in Magura early Thursday.The deceased was identified as Ruhul Amin,70.Quoting locals, officer-in-charge of Sadar Police Station Azmaul Huda said there had been a longstanding dispute over the ownership of a piece of land between Ruhul and another person of the village,UNB News Agency Reported.
A group of miscreants attacked Ruhul and chopped him indiscriminately when he was going to a local mosque for Fajr prayer early in the morning, leaving him dead on the spot.Locals noticed the body of Ruhul lying beside the Magura-Jhenaidah highway in the area at about 8am and informed police.Police recovered the body and sent it to Magura Sadar Hospital morgue for an autopsy.Ruhul might have been killed over a land-related matter, added the OC.A case was filed in this connection.
