Seminar on budget 2016-17 held at RU

A daylong seminar on national budget for the fiscal year 2016-17was held on Friday noon at the Institute of Bangladesh Studies (IBS) in Rajshahi University. Alumni Association of the Institute of Bangladesh Studies organized the seminar, press release said.Rajshahi University vice chancellor Prof. Muhammed Mizan Uddin was present at the seminar as the chief guest while president of IBS Alumni Association Prof. Md. Zainul Abedin presided over the programme.
IBS director Prof. Sharochis Sarkar was address as special guest and general secretary of Alumni Assoc Dr. Mohammed Nazimul Haque acted the seminar.
PhD researcher Towhidur Rahman presented keynote paper on the national budget for the year 2016-17.
An open discussion was also held at the programme.
Dr. AHM Ziaul Haque of Finance Department, Prof. Elias Hossain of Economics Department, Dr. ASM Rezaul Hasan and Dr. Farid Uddin Khan made discussion on the key note here.
Speakers at the seminar said that in the budget for the fiscal year 2016-17, the aspiration of the people of Bangladesh has reflected.
Terming the budget as a diagram of making a peaceful and well-heeled Bangladesh, they said that making such kind of budget, present government is going to fulfill the manifestos of election.
Government has empathized on the economic stability of the country, prevention of price hike, trims down the poverty and income privilege, prevention of corruption, establishment of justice, solution of scarcity of fuel and electricity in the budget, speakers added.
Criticizing of some weakness of the budget speakers at the programme said that the budget would be helpful to put into operation the vision-2021.
Terming the budget developing, speakers wished the overall and successful completion of the budget. -RU Correspondent
