Shahid Afridi criticises umpires after T20 defeat against Bangladesh

Shahid Afridi has criticised umpiring decisions after their devastating 7-wicket defeat against Bangladesh in the one-off T20 International in Mirpur. He thinks a single decision can change the course of a match. The Tigers registered their maiden win, by seven wickets, in the 20-over game against Pakistan at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium on Friday.Afridi was given out caught behind by Mushfiqur Rahim off Mustafizur Rahman.TV replays, however, suggested no edge but the ball seemed to get a slight deviation after going past the bat.“… I just told him (umpire) that I wasn’t out in my opinion. But people make mistake.“The match referee must have seen it. So ICC is watching this,” Afridi, who was a member of the Pakistan’s World Twenty20-winning squad, said after the match.“Not just one decision, two (or) three decisions (were wrong),” he added“In my opinion a single decision can change the fate of the match. So ICC is watching this decision.”The umpires for Friday’s match were Bangladesh’s Anisur Rahman and Sharfuddoula Ibne Shahid.Afridi, who scored 12 off 9 balls, wanted a review but walked back disappointed as it was unavailable.“I didn’t attend meeting with the match referee, so I didn’t know if the DRS (Decision Review System) was available.”The win topped the hosts’ 3-0 ODI series sweep against the 1992 world champions.
