India’s Ravichandran Ashwin has toppled Bangladesh’s Shakib Al Hasan from the top spot in the ICC’s ranking for Test allrounders.The game’s governing council published the rankings after the conclusion of the Test series between India and South Africa.The right-arm offspinner took seven wickets and scored a half-century in India’s resounding 337-run win in the fourth Test in Delhi that gave them a 3-0 series win against the Proteas on Monday.His was adjudged Man-of-the-Series for his 31 wickets that took him alongside Sachin Tendulkar and Virender Sehwag as the third Indian player to have claimed the award five times in their career.Tendulkar and Sehwag, however, earned the distinction in 200 and 103 Tests, respectively, while Ashwin did it in 32.Ashwin has 406 points to Shakib’s 384. England’s Stuart Broad is third with 315 points while Vernon Philander is on fourth with 298. Mitchell Stark follows him on fifth with 260.Ajinkya Rahane rose 14 places into 12th in the batsmen’s ranking after scoring two centuries in both innings in Delhi. He now leads the Indian batsmen in the ranking.Ravindra Jadeja became the seventh to break into the top 10 bowlers’ ranking. He took 23 wickets in the series, seven of them in the Delhi Test.
