Dhaka – Bangladesh Test captain and the number-one all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan has welcomed the newcomers of the Tigers set-up. Ahead of the second and final Test against the West Indies, Shakib said on Thursday the newcomers of the team deserve adequate chances to prove their potential at the highest level of the game.   “I always prefer to ensure enough games for the boys who get the chance to play for Bangladesh. So that they can apply themselves better to prove their strength at the highest level of the game. I’m not in favour to make changes repeatedly,” Shakib said at the pre-match press meet.   Bangladesh crowned seven players with the Test cap this year starting with Sunzamul Islam who debuted against Sri Lanka earlier this year while Nayeem Hasan, the right-arm spinner, played his inaugural Test against the visiting West Indies in Chattogram.   Nayeem managed to make his debut memorable taking five-for in the first innings of that match and became the youngest player to earn the feat as a debutant.   Now, Sadman Islam, a left-handed opener, is likely to get his Test cap in Dhaka on Friday. He is set to replace injured Imrul Kayes who has been ruled out due to injuries after the first Test of the series.   Abu Jayed Rahi, Ariful Haque, Nazmul Islam, Mohammad Mithun and Khaled Ahmed are the other freshmen of the Bangladesh team.   Bangladesh are all set to face West Indies in Dhaka from Friday in the second Test of the series. The hosts won the series opener by a big margin of 64 runs that led them to the commanding position of the contest. If Bangladesh can beat the visitors again, they will have the second Test series win over the West Indies. Bangladesh won the first-ever Test series against the Caribbeans in 2009.UNB
