Shakil shares 2nd spot in 3rd Int’l Mumbai Chess


Dhaka – IM Abu Sufian Shakil was sharing the 2nd slot in the points table of the IILF 3rd International Mumbai Chess Tournament after the 4th round games in Mumbai, India on Tuesday.Shakil earned 3.5 points after the 4th round to share the spot along with 19 other players.Among other Bangladesh participants in the meet, GM Ziaur Rahman bagged 3 points, Abul Kashem earned 2 points and Masum Rahi earned 1 point from four games each.In the 4th round games, Shakil beat Aneek Das (India), Zia defeated Vishwanath Prasad (India), Kashem outplayed Rosh Jain (India) while Masum Rahi lost to Hari Madhavan(India).Meanwhile, another Bangladesh player, Tahsin Tajwar Zia, was sharing the 2nd slot along with six other players in the points table of the of the IIFL School Chess Under-13 tournament securing 4.5 points after the 5th round games at the same venue on Wednesday.Tahsin beat Bhavik Ahuja of India in the 5th round.UNB news agency
