Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner Md Asaduzzaman Mia on Thursday said special security measures have been taken in the capital ahead of the 9-day Eid holidays in public offices beginning from Friday. “We have taken special security for the city dwellers to prevent criminal incidents and the law enforcement agencies will keep vigil for ensuring security”, he said while talking to the reporters after distributing clothes among the destitute at the Banani Model School premises. Besides, the law enforcement agencies will take measures in coordination with the security guards of residences, offices and shopping malls to prevent stealing and robbery, he said. He also urged the city dwellers to leave their places after ensuring adequate security. DMP has also undertaken various steps for ensuring safe journey of the homebound people during the festival, he added.
