Dhaka – BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia on Sunday tweeted that they want to get rid of evil politics like ransacking opposing office using police without any reason.
“We want to remove the evil politics like ransacking opposition office misusing police for unnecessary reason from Bangladesh,” she said in her tweet at 3:29pm yesterday. The former premier made this comments from her tweeter account a day after police conducted a raid at her Gulshan office and they came out of the house empty handed. Police found nothing during the more than two-hour-long search.
Meanwhile, BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir demanded resignation of minister for home affairs Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal for what he said illegally conducting the search operation at the chairperson’s office.
“Police conducted the search operation at BNP chairperson’s office unlawfully. That’s why we want the Home Minister to quit. He (minister) must step down bearing the responsibility over the raid,” he said while speaking at a press conference at the party’s central office at Naya Paltan in the city.
Terming the police action provocative and unprecedented one, he said it has set a bad example. “It is an ominous sign for politics and it would remain as a tainted chapter in the history,” he added.
