Seven years after the release of his blockbuster romantic tragedy “Monpura,” National Award winning helmer Giasuddin Selim had announced “Swapnajaal” back in 2015.
One of the most anticipated Dhallywood films, the film was originally slated to release in December 2017. Although, it was later postponed to February this year, the release later was halted again over some complications centring the preview committee.
However, as per the recent developments, the director is now eyeing on to two specific dates – March 30 and April 6 – to release the film.
“Members of the censor board will watch the film on February 25. I hope that we will get an uncut clearance and only then we will be able to confirm a release date,” Selim said on Friday.
Preferring either March 30 or April 6 to release “Swapnajaal,” Selim also said that he does not want to release the film any time before or after.
Stating the reason behind the dates, he said, “The social, political and financial environments are also involved with the release of a film. I will have to confirm the date from these two choices anyway.”
The film’s shooting started back in February 2016 at the bank of the Dakatia River in Chandpur. Rest of the project has been shot in Kolkata.
The drama film, written and directed by Selim, features Yash Rohan and Pori Moni in the lead roles. The cast of the film also includes Misha Sowdagar, Fazlur Rahman Babu, Shahana Shumi, Shahidul Alam Sacchu, Iresh Zaker, Shahed Ali, Farhana Mithu, and Ahsanul Haque Minu, among others.
The promo of the film, produced by Bengal Creations, was released at the Bengal Classical Music Festival in December 2017.
