Comedy drama “Tamasha” was staged by Chandrakala Theatre troupe on Thursday  during the ongoing Ganga-Jamuna Theatre Festival. It was presented at the Studio Theatre Hall of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy. HR Anik has both written and directed this original satire on the life style of traditional Old Dhaka.

The drama as mentioned centers around two wealthy merchants in Old Dhaka who happen to reside on the same plot. One is a comical elderly man, the other a lady who has jewelry business. The lady out of anguish forcibly marries a man and confines him to her home while the elderly man only has his sister and daughter in the family.

Tensions keep pressing between the two house leaders over many issues ranging from love games between capricious members of the families and other trivialities. Molly, Badhan, Oboni, Anis, Masum and more have acted in the drama.
