Tamim enters 5000-run club in ODI as 1st Bangladeshi

Dhaka – Dashing opener Tamim Iqbal has become the first Bangladeshi cricketer to reach the 5000-run mark in ODI format.Tamim entered the elite club during the series-deciding 3rd match against England at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chittagong on
Wednesday.Tamim started his batting in the match with 38 runs requiring for his feat and touched the milestone hitting a boundary off Chris Woakes,UNB News Agency Reported.
He has now 5007 runs in his bag in the One-Day International as he was out for 45 runs off 68 balls featuring five fours in the match.
The left-handed batsman made his ODI debut in 2007 against Zimbabwe in Harare and played 158 matches to score the runs.He hammered seven centuries and 33 half centuries in this format to hold the record of having most centuries and half centuries among
Bangladesh players.
