Taskin hopes to gain clearance from Brisbane ICC lab


Dhaka  – Promising young pacer Taskin Ahmed will undergo tests on his bowling action bowling at an ICC laboratory in Brisbane,
Australia next month, hoping to get himself cleared to bowl again in international cricket.Jalal Yunus, media committee chairman of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB), revealed the details to journalists on Saturday.“Taskin will fly for Brisbane in the first week of September, most probably on the 5th or 6th of the month. He will be tested in an ICC
lab on September 8.”Taskin is now preparing himself for the test in the ICC laboratory,after his bowling action was found clean in a recent assessment by the BCB’s Bowling Action Review Committee (BARC).However, Taskin has been officially barred from bowling in international cricket since March 19, following an independent assessment in Chennai on March 15.He was reported for a suspected bowling action during the World T20 round-one match against Netherlands in Dharamsala, India on March 9.Another suspended bowler, left-arm spinner Arafat Sunny is likely to fly alongside Taskin Ahmed, although there is no official announcement yet on this. The left-arm spinner was also barred during World T20 and passed in the action test by BARC at BCB.
