Noting that the rate of people using the telecommunication services in the country has reached 84 percent, Tarana Halim on Tuesday said they want to build an inclusive society with the use of telecommunication and information technology.
The State Minister for Posts and Telecommunications was inaugurating a road show and a rally in the city marking the World Telecommunication and Information Society Day. Dhaka, UNB News Agency Reported.
In 2008, Tarana said, the teledensity was 38 percent and now it stands at 84 percent. “The number of mobile and internet users in the country is on the rise. So, time is ours…time is Bangladesh’s.”
Posts and Telecommunications Department, six mobile phone operators and 31 information technology providers participated in the colourful road show.
The road show started from Manik Miah Avenue and ended at Bangladesh Telecommunication and Regulatory Commission (BTRC) after parading different streets.
