Dhaka – Rajshahi Kings have a gigantic task for their maiden win in the 5th Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) T20 as their opponent Sylhet Sixers set them a target of 206 runs, the highest in the meet till the date, in the match at Sylhet International Cricket Stadium in Sylhet on Tuesday.Sent in to bat first, table topper Sixers scored 205 for 6 in 20 overs with their opening pair contribution of 100 off 10.3 overs between Upul Tharanga and Andre Fletcher.Tharanga became the most half-centurion till date in the tournament with three successive half centuries, hitting 50 runs in the day’s match, following 51 for a four-wicket win against Comilla Victorians and 69* for a marvelous nine-wicket victory against defending champions Dhaka Dynamites in the tournament opener.The Sri Lankan left-hand batsman Tharanga faced 37 balls to fire five boundaries and one six for his 3rd fifty before being caught by skipper Darren Sammy off James Franklin on 105/2 in 11.2 overs. Fletcher, who starred with 63 runs and shared the opening partnership of 125 with Tharanga on Sixers first match, fell short two runs for his 2nd half century in this edition BPL as he was victim of run out on 101/1 in 10.3 overs.The West Indian wicketkeeper-batsman Fletcher scored 48 off 30 balls, including five boundaries and three over boundaries.Sri Lankan left-handed batsman Danushka Gunathilaka, was caught by Farhad Reza, carried out a quick-load of 42 off 22 balls, including two boundaries and three sixes, before Kesrick Williams found him on 169/4 in 17.4 overs.Ross Whiteley quick-fired 25 off 12 balls, including one boundary and three sixes while and Sabbir Rahman (16 off 14b; 1×6) was another double digit scorers for the side.Kesrick Williams captured two wickets for 39 in four overs while Farhad Reza and James Franklin got one wicket each for 38 and 41 runs.UNB news agency
