Trader gunned down in the city’s Matuail early Tuesday.


The victim was identified as Mojibur Rahman, 45, son of Showrab Ali Sarder. He was residing at his own house at Kajirgaon Mridhabari of Matuail.

Contacted, Sayedur Rahman, elder brother of the victim, said Mojibur Rahman had cable (Copper) business in Nababpur Road but he did not go there for last one month.

He was owner of two houses, one 6-storey building and another 2-storey building. He was residing the 2-storey building behind the 6-storey building, Sayedur said.

Sayedurm who has been residing another are, said family members found Mojibur outside the building with bullet injuries early in the morning and rushed him to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where the duty doctor pronounced him dead at about 5:30 am.

Deputy Commissioner (Media) of DMP Muntashirul Islam said the security guard of the house found on the rooftop of the building with tied in hands. Reason behind the killing could not be ascertained immediately, he added.

The body was kept in the morgue of the hospital for postmortem. – News Desk
