A seven-day long training for the university journalists, titled “Training on Agriculture, Environment and Business Journalism” began on Friday to increase the efficiency and skills on Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU).
BAU Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Md Ali Akbar inaugurated the programme as the chief guest while BAU students affairs advisor Prof Md Jasimuddin Khan, proctor Prof Dr AKM Zakir Hossain and secretary of Mymensingh press club Ataul Karim Khokon addressed as the special guests with Graduate Training Institute (GTI) Director Prof Dr M Mozahar Ali in the chair.
In the opening ceremony of the training programme, speakers said, agriculture sector of our country is facing many challenges including climate change at present. Agricultural journalist should play important role to meet the challenges through disseminating the information on new technology release and successful stories to motivate the people.
Funded by BAU administration, Graduate Training Institute (GTI) of BAU is organizing the programme that will continue till October 15.
