Views exchange meeting on quality education held in Faridpur

A daylong views exchange meeting initiated by Prime Ministers’ Office (PMO) to assess the attainment of quality education across the district in the light of National Education Policy-2010 was held here on Saturday.
Director General (DG) of PMO M Abdul Aziz attended the meeting as the chief guest while DC Mainuddin Ahmed was in the chair. About one hundred heads of colleges, secondary schools, madrashas and education related officials attended the meeting.The DG giving a brief evolutionary development of modern education in the light of present government’s education policy told that the present government is very much keen to ensure quality education in the country to make it a prosperous nation. Principals of some colleges demanded the creation of post of ICT teachers at Higher Secondary level as the subject has been made compulsory. Secondary school teachers sought posts of at least three teachers instead of present one for pure science. After long hearing from the teachers, DG Abdul Aziz assured that their problems would be looked into with a positive attitude as the government is committed to imparting quality education in the country to attain vision 2021. Referring to madrasha education he said that present government has given extra impetus to make this century old special type of learning
science oriented and modern. He also disclosed that more infrastructures for accommodating increasing number of students would be constructed soon across the country.
He suggested that the managing committees of the institutions should regularly review the quality education in the respective institutions.He advised the DC and other education related officials to regularly monitor the academic performance of education institutions that will
