Dhaka – It is rare in Bangladesh to find a singer who did not sing a song on ‘mother’ sharing love, respect and sorrow, sowing the seeds of eternity, unb news agency reported.
But for the first time, a group of Bangladeshi youngsters have come up with a song titled ‘Mother’ in seven languages, including Bangla, dedicating it to mothers across the world. The song with a video edition will officially be launched globally on Mother’s Day that falls on Sunday.
“With this song, we want to show respect to mothers across the world.
This song is dedicated to all the mothers,” Nabid Salehin Niloy, who coordinated the initiative, told UNB.
Its singers are Joy Shahriar (Bangla), Aatif Sayeed (Hindi), Nora (German), Stephen Danniel (French), Yorgo Elka (Arabic), Alexander Shakhov (Russian) and Stephanie Forryan (English).
Farhad played piano and Niloy was on Bass guitar, while Nora played violin in the song arranged in Aajob Records studio.
Lyric of the song was written by Joy Shahriar (Bangla part), Stephanie Forryan (English) and Nora Kudrjawizki (rest of the parts).
Nora composed the song, while Niloy, Farhad and Nora made the music arrangements.
In Bangla, the song goes like this: ‘Tomar jonno deekhechi alo, chuyechi ei dhoroni, tomar jonno akash patal, oronno pahar nodi, mago tumi amar prithibi’, while the Hindi version is: ‘Teri bin meri jindegi be range hey, sob kuch hay agar tu sang hay’.
Earlier, Niloy and his friends released the famous song ‘Amar Bhaier Rokte Rangano Ekushey February’ into 12 languages together marking the International Mother Language Day this year.
Niloy earned both the appreciation and criticisms after the release of the song connecting singers from 11 countries apart from Bangladeshi singers paying respect to the language martyrs in a
different way.
“After having a positive feedback from my first work with Project 21, I decided to move on and release songs on special days. I shared this with my group members, and we all together started working for Mother’ s Day,” Niloy told UNB.
Flowers, cards and gifts have now been part of Mother’s Day in Bangladesh though the spending on Mother’s Day is much higher than  other parts of the world.
Many outlets in Bangladesh, including Aarong, have launched a special Mother’s Day ‘Shop and Win’ well ahead of the Day.

Mother’s Day is celebrated annually as a tribute to all mothers and motherhood. It is celebrated on various dates in many parts of the world.
Although the origins of the holiday dates back to the times of the ancient Greeks and Romans, the modern form of the celebration of Mother’s Day in the United States began in the early 20th century.
It was first celebrated in 1908 in Grafton, West Virginia, when Anna Jarvis held a memorial for her mother Ann Reeves Jarvis who, in turn, many years earlier had founded Mothers’ Day Work Clubs in five cities.
Anna Jarvis began a campaign to make the Mother’s Day a national holiday and she succeeded in 1914, when US President Woodrow Wilson proclaimed the second Sunday in May a Mother’s Day.
The Sydney Morning Herald in a report ahead of the Mother’s Day said Australians love their mums more than their dads – if Mother’s Day spending is any indicator.
It is the one day retailers can ride on the belief that the love between mother and child is priceless, it said.
Mother’s Day is the biggest dining day of the year for the restaurant industry, after Valentine’s Day in Australia.
