Widow receives cheque for Tk 18 lakh from RCC Mayor

Mayor of Rangpur City Corporation (RCC) Alhaj Sharfuddin Ahmed Jhantu has handed over a cheque for Taka 18-lakh to widow Madhuri Kawser, wife of late noted contractor and social worker Mir Mamunur Rashid Mamun.
The RCC Mayor handed over the cheque on behalf of Rangpur District Contractors’ Association (RDCA) as grant at a ceremony arranged at LGED auditorium in the city as the chief guest on Wednesday afternoon.President of RDCA and senior Awami League leader Rafikul Islam Dulal presided over the ceremony participated by the contractors from all over the district, officials and family members of late contractor Mamun.Superintending Engineer of Rangpur Circle of the Local Government and Engineering Department (LGED) Md, Sarifuzzaman, its Executive Engineer Hassan Mahmud, noted contractors Moazzem Hossain Lablu, Shafikul Islam Mithu, Abdur Rouf Ranga, Golam Rabbani Biplob, Zakaria Islam, Mir Mostaq Ali and Noor Alam Khokan addressed the ceremony as the special guests. Later, special munajats were offered seeking divine blessing for the departed soul of late Mir Mamunur Rashid Mamun and well-being of his surviving family members in the cheque handing over ceremony. Earlier, Mir Mamunur Rashid Mamun died at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University Hospital (BSMMUH) while undergoing treatment there on February 18 last.After receiving the cheque, Madhuri Kawser, wife of the late contractor expressed her deep gratitude to all members of RDCA for their benevolent assistance for her children and other family members.The RCC Mayor highly appreciated the noble initiative of RDCA and thanked its leaders and members for standing by the widow of their late colleague Mir Mamunur Rashid Mamun, who was a noted contractor and social worker of the city.BSS, Rangpur
