Wild elephant kills man in Cox’s Bazar

Cox’s Bazar, Sept 13 (UNB)- A wild elephant trampled a man to death at Purbo Bhutiapara in Sadar upazila here early Friday.

The deceased was identified as Nazir Ahmed, 48, son of late Ashu Ali of Vutiarpara area. Ashaduzzaman, officer-in-charge of Eidgaon Investigation Centre, said the elephant attacked the man while he was guarding a paddy filed around 3 am, leaving him injured.

Locals took the victim to a local hospital where doctors declared him dead, said Kamal Uddin, a member of Eidgaon Union Parishad.
