Women killed as bus hit her rickshaw in Capital


A housewife was killed as a speeding passenger bus hit her rickshaw from rear in the city’s Jatrabari on Monday.
The victim was identified as Sobina Akhtar, 25, wife of Azizul Haque of Tangail. Police detained the killer bus and its driver from the spot.
Sources at DMCH said Sobina travelling with her 3-year-old son Tamim and a nephew named Shanta, 15, got down at Kamalapur station from Tangail in the afternoon.They rode on a rickshaw for going to one of their relative’s house at Dhulaipar. When the rickshaw reached near west side of Jatrabari police outpost at about 4:30 pm, a passenger bus of ‘Shikhar Paribahan’ hit the rickshaw.
Sobina fell on the road from the rickshaw and received fatal injuries. Near by on-duty police rescued her and rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where she succumbed to her injuries at about 5:10 pm. However, Tamim and Shanta remained unhurt in the incident. – News Desk
