Dhaka – Bangladesh golfer Zamal Hossain Mollah stayed in the race of the $400,000 Panasonic Open moving up to the joint 11th from 14th slot in the cut-round at Delhi Golf Club, India on Friday.Zamal aggregated five-under-par 139, six shots behind the leader Paul Peterson of USA, from two round to secured top-11 spot, sharing with seven other golfers.Peterson, who made his debut at the Panasonic Open India this week, started the second round with five shots back of Indian Ajeetesh Sandhu and broke the stronghold of the Indian by firing a bogey-free eight-under-par 64 to take the second round lead.Zamal traded one eagle and five birdies against three bogies and one double bogey for two-under-par 70 in the second round, starting with Thursday’s three-under-par 69 in the first round.In the second round, Zamal’s first putt witnessed an eagle and then he birdied in the next putt to gear up before went down towards with two bogies in the 5th and 7th holes and ended up with an worse in the 9th to see one-over-par 37 after the first 9.He returned into the game with four birdies in the 10th, 13th, 16th and 18th holes against one bogie in the 17th holes of the second session of three-under-par 33.In 2016 India Panasonic Open at the same venue, Zamal finished 15th aggregating three-under-par 213.However, the two-time Asian Tour winner Siddikur Rahman, who secured top-9 in the last edition Panasonic Open in Japan in April 2017, is not representing Bangladesh in this current edition as he is now busy on a special training in Manila ahead of his campaign in the Resorts World Manila Masters, starting at Southwoods Golf and Country Club, Philippine on November 9.UNB news agency
