4th Model UN conference underway at JU

Savar (Dhaka) Feb 15 – A 3-day-long Model United Nations (UN) conference, titled ‘Jahangirnagar Model United Nations 2018’, commenced on Jahangirnagar University (JU) campuson Thursday.With the slogan of ‘Rebuilding Policies for Sustainable Humanity’, Jahangirnagar University Model United Nations Association (JUMUNA) arranged the conference at JU Zahir Raihan Auditorium.
Shamsul Islam Naem, the Secretary General of ‘JMUN 2018’, came up with the information at a press meet in JUJA office of TSC yesterday.
A total of 300 delegates, from around 40 schools, colleges and universities around the country, are participating the conference while the overseas participants from different colleges and universities of Nepal and Qatar, along with Bangladesh, will judge the competitions.
Suzan Barai, The Director General of ‘JMUN 2018’, said: ‘The participants, being divided into eight groups, are discussing about different world issues and are trying to pave the way to solutions’.
The findings, as a resolution, will be sent to the Bangladesh Office of United Nations Information Centre (UNIC), after the conference ends.
State Minister to the Local Government and Rural Development (LGRD) Ministry Mashiur Rahman Ranga, MP, as the chief guest, inaugurated the conference while JU VC Prof Dr. Farzana Islam was present as the guest of honour.
