Road mishap injures 40 BNP activists including 16-17 critically on Dhaka-Chittagong highway
Chattogram, Aug 23 - At least 40 activists of Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) were injured in a road accident on the Dhaka-Chittagong highway in Chattogram's Sitakunda Upazila on Friday.
This accident occurred at the Royal Gate area of Kumira in the upazila at 4 pm.
According to local sources, leaders and activists of Baraiardhala union unit BNP were going to exchange greetings with the newly released BNP Chairperson's advisor Aslam Chowdhury.
When the bus carrying BNP men reached Kumira area of the upazila, the wheel burst and the bus lost control and overturned on the side of the road, leaving at least 40 party men injured.
The injured were rescued and taken to Upazila Health Complex, from where 16-17 seriously injured were sent to Chittagong Medical College Hospital.
Md Kazi Salauddin, joint convener of Chittagong North District BNP, said everyone in the bus got injury.
However, all injured have been treated.-UNB
