Dhaka, Mar 18 -- At least five Dhaka-bound flights, including two on international routes, had to be diverted to Chattogram’s Shah Amanat International Airport due to the adverse weather conditions on Wednesday evening.

In a statement, the Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB) said the affected flights include three operated by US-Bangla Airlines—on Cox’s Bazar–Dhaka, Singapore–Dhaka and Malé (Maldives)–Dhaka routes.

One Novoair flight on the Saidpur–Dhaka route was also diverted.

Meanwhile, an Air Astra flight operating on the Chattogram–Dhaka route was forced to return to Chattogram.

The flights are expected to resume their journeys to Dhaka once weather conditions improve. - UNB
