Grameen Bank branch set on fire in Brahmanbaria

Miscreants set fire to a branch of Grameen Bank at Amtali in Bijoynagar upazila of Brahmanbaria district early Wednesday.


Noticing the fire around 2 am, security guards of the bank brought the fire under control with the help of local people, said Shahidul Islam, Officer-in-Charge of Bijoynagar Police Station.

Md Kalim Uddin, manager of the bank, said a window was found broken and some wood pieces, caps of two bottles were found inside the office.

Three ceiling fans, a shelf, and some important documents were gutted burned in the fire, reports UNB. 

A general diary was lodged with Bijoynagar Police Station.

Investigation is underway, said the OC.
