Attempt to lay siege to Prothom Alo office

A group of online activists demanding cancellation Bengali daily Prothom Alo’s registration tried to lay a siege to the newspaper’s office on Wednesday. They are agitated over the newspaper for describing Bangladesh’s Liberation War in a report as an ‘India-Pakistan war’. A Biman Bangladesh Airlines official has been arrested after 106 kilograms of contraband gold was found abandoned in an aircraft’s toilet at Dhaka’s Shahjalal airport. A left-leaning doctors’ group has condemned the attacks on journalists by doctors at different hospitals.
