A group of Dhaka University (DU) students fought pitched battles with shop owners at the nearby Nilkhet market on Saturday evening. Several shops in Nilkhet, which is the biggest book market in Dhaka, have been torched. The 30-minute-long clash also left at least 15 people injured. Two more victims of Thursday’s hardware store fire in Dhaka have died, taking the death toll to three. A fire has burned down several shops at the Nilkhet book market in capital Dhaka. The flames which ignited around 10pm Wednesday was doused within an hour, said a Fire Service control room official.
