Dhaka, 12 Sept - The 'Home of Cricket' Mirpur Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium is bustling again with the cricketers who started their practice session under the supervision of technical consultant Sridharan Sriram for the upcoming tri-nation series and T20 World Cup.

In addition to the national team cricketers, a number of outside players have also been called in a bid to help the players in practice.

Cricketers were asked to report at 9 AM and most of them did it duly. A meeting with the cricketers was held before the start of practice. Basically head coach in the guise of Technical consultant Sriram explained the cricketers about their responsibilities and roles there. After coming out and warming up, the match scenario preparation started but for a while as a spell of shower forced the players to back to the dressing room.

After the rain stopped, they came out again and did some practice.

This camp is not mandatory for the regular cricketers of the national team. After the failure in the Asia Cup, Sriram wants to see the cricketers who have the potential to make it in the national team. Team director Khaled Mahmud Sujon also confirmed that if Sriram finds anyone fit for the national team, he will be included in the team.

Therefore cricketers from BCB HP team and Bangladesh Tigers have been
called to the camp. As per the time set by ICC, the World Cup squad has to be
announced by September 15. As a result, Bangladesh has enough time.

At the end of the three-day camp, Sriram himself will select the team for the World Cup and the tri-nation series as he has been given that freedom.
The cricketers in fact will be under tight observation of Sriram for the coming three days as the T20 specialist coach will try to assess their skill through match scenario practice session.

The upcoming tri-nation series and T20 World Cup also will be an acid test for Sriram. He got responsibility for Asia Cup, tri-nation series and T20 World Cup. His team failed in the Asia Cup mission and now Tri-series and T20 World Cup are ahead. It is understandable that his contract will not be renewed if the team does badly in these coming two competitions.

Bangladesh is scheduled to fly to New Zealand on September 23 with the squad which will be announced for tri-nation series and World Cup simultaneously. Apart from hosts New Zealand, Pakistan are the other team in the tri-nation series.

Bangladesh though were supposed to set up a week-long conditioning camp
in Adelaide, Australia after the tri-nation series, they backed out from the
decision, considering players hectic schedule.

They will however play two warm-up matches against Afghanistan and South
Africa on October 17 and 19 as part of their preparation ahead of the T20 World Cup.

Bangladesh will start their World Cup mission on October 24, taking on the runners-up of Group-A in Hobart. Their second match is against South Africa in Sydney on October 27 after which they will face off Group-B champions at the Gabba in Brisbane on October 30. Bangladesh then will take on subcontinent powerhouse India on November 2 and Pakistan on November 6. Adelaide will host both of the matches.
