Dhaka – Dhaka Metro and Sylhet Division posted innings victory in their respective Tier-2 matches of the National Cricket League (NCL) on the 3rd day of the four-day matches on Monday. In the 4th round matches of the first class league, Sylhet Division beat Barishal Division by an innings and 32 runs at the Sheikh Kamal International Cricket Stadium in Cox’s Bazar while Dhaka Metro defeated Chattogram Division by an innings and 64 runs at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram with one more day to spare.
In the Tier-1 matches, Khulna Division need 73 runs to win against Rangpur Division while Rajshahi Division were trailing by 168 runs in their 2nd innings against Dhaka Division.
Tier-2: Barishal Division vs Sylhet Division
Resuming the 2nd innings with their overnight total of 12 for 1, Barishal tumbled for 128 in 45.1 overs with Sohag Gazi scoring 37 and Shahriar Nafees 32 runs.
Nasum Ahmed bagged four wickets for 5 runs while Ebadat Hossain took three wickets for 28 runs.
Replying to Barishal’s 162 runs in the first innings, Sylhet were all out for 322 runs in their first innings.

After victim of follow-on, Chattogram Division resumed the 2nd innings with their overnight total of 96 for 3 and were all out for 248 in 80.2 overs.
Captain Yasir Ali scored 66 off 100 balls and Pinak Ghosh 57 off 106 balls.
Shahidul Islam bagged four wickets for 29 runs while Taskin Ahmed and Sharifullah took two wickets each conceding 49 and 59 runs respectively.
Earlier, Dhaka Metro scored 403 in 108.4 overs in the first innings and enforced the follow-on after dismissing Chattogram for 91 runs in 30.5 overs.
Shadman Islam who scored 178 runs in the first innings was adjudged man of the match.

Resuming the first innings with the overnight total of 284 for 4, Dhaka Division declared the innings for 475 runs for seven wickets in 136.1 overs against Rajshahi Division at Academy ground of Sheikh Kamal International Cricket Stadium in Cox’s Bazar on the third day (Monday).
Taibur Rahman, who was on batting with 93 runs, smashed a century hammering 102 runs off 180 balls featuring 10 fours and a six, another overnight batsman Shuvagata Hom (92) scored 104 runs off 186 balls hitting eight fours and one six while captain Nadif Chowdhury hit unbeaten 101 off 138 balls with seven fours and seven sixes and Sumon Khan made unbeaten 50 off 66 balls.
Sunzamul Islam bagged four wickets for 162 runs while Farhad Reza took two wickets for 41 runs.
In reply, Rajshahi Division with their first innings total of 230 runs, opened the 2nd innings on Monday afternoon and scored 77 for 3 in 42 overs to trail by 168 runs at the end of day-3.
Junaid Siddique and Najmul Hossain Shanto remained unbeaten on 41 and 17 runs respectively.
Left-arm spinner Nazmul Islam bagged two wickets for Dhaka.

Nasir Hossain scored team’s highest 78 off 136 balls and Ariful Haque 58 off 134 balls.
Abdur Razzak bagged five wickets for 71 runs after taking seven for 69 in the first innings.
In reply, Khulna posted 130 for five in 38 overs at the end of the third day. They need 73 runs on the last day to register a win in the match.
Anamul Haque scored 34, Mehedi Hasan and Ziaur Rahman remained unbeaten on 30 runs each.
Sohrawordi Shuvo bagged four wickets conceding 27 runs.
