Madrasa boy’s body found in Jessore teacher’s house

Jashore, June 2 (UNB) – Police recovered the decomposed body of a madrasa student from his teacher’s house in Sharsha upazila on Sunday afternoon.

The victim was identified as Shah Poran, 11, hailing from Kagojpukur area of the upazila.

Abdur Rashid, local union parishad chairman, said Hafizur Rahman, a teacher of Goga Gazipara Hafizia Madrasa in the upazila, brought the boy to his house several days ago. He returned to his workplace alone after staying for few days in the house.

Smelling bad odour coming from the house, locals peeped through a window and spotted a body beneath a cot on Sunday afternoon, said M Mashiur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Sharsha Police Station.

Later, a police team went to the spot and recovered the decomposed body, he said, adding that they were investigating the incident.

Assistant Superintendent of Police (Navaran circle) Jewel Ahmed visited the spot.
