Training workshop for child journalists begins in Rangpur

A three-day basic training workshop for child journalists on child
rights began here at the hall room of Civil Surgeon Office in the city
from Monday.
Massline Media Centre (MMC) has been organising the training workshop
under its ‘Children and Media Project’ with the assistance of Save the
Children.
Senior journalist Abdus Shahed Mantu inaugurated the training workshop
in the opening ceremony with Rangpur Divisional Coordinator of the
workshop and Rangpur District BTV Correspondent Ali Ashraf in the
chair.
District Children Affairs Officer Zahidul Islam attended the inaugural
ceremony as the chief guest while Rangpur Divisional Coordinator of
the workshop Ali Ashraf delivered welcome speech.
Editor of the Dainik Dabanol Sarker Mazharul Mannan, Deputy News
Editor of the Dainik Juger Ali Nazrul Mridhha, Rangpur Bureau Chief of
the Dainik Ajkaler Khabar Shakil Ahmed and Staff Reporter of the
Dainik Prathom Khabar Enamul Haque, addressed the ceremony as the
special guests.
News Producer of BTV Moniruzzaman Khan and Editor of the Dainik
Dabanol Sarker Mazharul Mannan provided practical training and
knowledge as resource persons on the inaugural day on basic child
journalism, UN Charter on Child Rights, mass media and technique for
writing news reports for establishing child rights.
Twenty child journalists, who are students of different educational
institutions, from all eight districts of Rangpur division have been
taking part in the training workshop that will continue till September
25.
