Dhaka – Barisal Division left-arm orthodox spinner Monir Hossain destroyed Khulna’s batting backbone as he captured all the seven Khulna 1st innings wickets that fell on day 2 in their tier 1 match of the Walton 19th National Cricket League (NCL), country’s first class cricket league, at Sheikh Abu Naser Stadium in Khulna on Saturday.Monir finished with figures of 7/85 off 34.5 overs to halt Khulna’s 1st innings at 444 all out off in 124.3 overs, after resuming the innings with overnight score of 348/3 in 90 overs.Overnight centurion Mahadi Hasan added 12 runs more runs with his previous score on the day to finish for 177 off 290 balls, including 16 boundaries and one six.Nurul Hasan (33) and Mominul Islam (22*) were the other double digit scorers for side on the day.Barisal opened the 1st innings on the day and trailed by 273 runs after scoring 171 for 6 in 55 overs, at stumps, where Rafsan Al Mahamud (58* off 142b; 8×4; 1×6) and Nuruzzaman (52* off 97b; 2×4; 2×6) were at the crease hammering a half century each.Salman (32) and Al-Amin (17) were the other double digit scorers for the side.Alamin Hossain and skipper Abdur Razzak bagged two wickets for 32 and 50 runs for Khulna respectively.Meanwhile, another Tier 1 match between Dhaka Division and Rangpur Division at Shaheed Chandu Stadium in Bogra, was called off due to a wet outfield for the 2nd successive day.Brief Score:
