3 ‘human traffickers’ held, woman rescued


Police in a drive arrested three people suspecting them as human traffickers and rescued a woman at Kashipur under Khalishpur Police Station in the city on Tuesday night.The arrestees were identified as Adbus Sattar, 45, a resident of Kalia upazila of Narail district, his wife Khaleda, 28, and his sister-in-law Rafiza Akter, 22.
Sub-inspector of Khalishpur Police Station Shafiqul Islam said Abdus Sattar kept the woman, 20, confined to his house promising her to give a good job abroad.However, neighbours of Sattar informed police about the matter.On information, police conducted the drive around 10pm and arrested the trio from their home and rescued the woman.Sattar used to live at a rented house in Khalishpur. -UNB, Khulna
