As part of the continual digitisation process, 32 educational institutions in Khulna district have got digital classrooms, facilitating teachers and students there modern tech-based educational tools.
Unlike the traditional classrooms, each of the digital classrooms named as ‘Sheikh Russel” is equipped with 17 laptops and printers.
“The digital classrooms enable teachers and students have access to internet and get required study materials instantly,” said Khulna District Education Officer Md. Nurul Amin.
Thus, he said, there is no need for student carry lots of books for everyday study as teacher can give them lessons using internet and without the printed textbooks.
While visiting at Khulna Zila School last Saturday, this correspondent came to know that on an average 300 students are getting their lessons through internet every day.
Headmaster of this school Md. Ariful Islam said 300-325 students taking lessons every day at the digital classrooms while they are also getting access to various news and articles on national and international issues, sport events and general knowledge.
A ten grader student at the Khulna Zila School Ashiqur Rahman said besides text books, novels, books on science and other subjects are also available at the multi-media digital classrooms through internet.
Nisha Akter and Rubina Akter, students of class ten of Govt. Iqbal Nagar School said that they now could understand better their lessons, thanks to the multi-media presentations at the digital classroom.
Mansur Ali, a student of class ten of Koyra Bhagba HB Secondary School said he did not have any idea about computer a few months back. But, now he is using computer at the digital classroom.
Principal of Alia Kamil Madrasa Moulana Abul Khayer Md. Zakaria said on an average of 20 students attend the digital classrooms every day.
Md. Zakir Hossain, Director of Secondary and Higher Education of Khulna region said the government has a plan to expand further the digitisation of educational institutions so all students can get the modern education facility.
President of Greater Khulna Development Action Coordination Committee (GKDACC) Sheikh Ashrafuzzaman said disitalisation project of the government at the educational institution would make well-informed and skilled generation in future.

Coronation Girls School, Govt Girls School, Rayer Mahal High School, Khulna Alia Kamel Madrasa, Kazdia Secondary High School, JKS High School, Nandanpur Dakhil Madrasa, Rupsha College, Chitra Women College, Shatadal College, Ekhari-Katenga Fazlul Haque Institute, SMA Mazid Smarak High School, MM Mazid Degree College, Senhati High School, Pather Bazar High School, Gazirhat Hazi Naimuddin High School, Paikgram Cosba High School, Damodar Muktomoyee High School, Fultala Women College, Dumuria Kulty High School, Baniakhali High School, Banda High School, Dumuria Govt. Girls High School, Batiaghata Pilot High School, Dakop Batbunia High School, Dakop Secondary Girls School, Paikgachha Fasiar Rahman Women College, Kapilmuni Zafar Aowlia Fazil Degree Madrasa, Shaheed Kamrul Memorial High School, Koyra Bhagba HB High School and Chhanichar High School.
