Senior Awami League leader Suranjit Sengupta on Monday demanded that Nur Hossain, the prime accused in the Narayanganj seven-murder cases, be quizzed to unearth the mystery behind the gruesome killings.“The main reason behind the seven murders must be unearthed and brought before the country’s people by interrogating Nur Hossain. “Why will Nur Hossain not be grilled when victims’ families are claiming that he is the mastermind of the killings and knows everything behind the incident?” he said
Suranjit, an Awami League Advisory Council member, was speaking at a discussion organised by Bangladesh Swadhinata Parishad at Dhaka Reporters Unity in the city.
The Awami League leader also demanded further investigation into the seven-murder incident. “It can’t happen that those who gave the money and those who received the amount won’t be unmasked.”
Hailing BNP for its decision to join the municipality elections, he said this would consolidate the country’s democracy.
