7,000 families get solar power in Panchagarh


About 7,000 families, especially rural areas, in five upazilas of the district have been brought under solar power supply network by Grameen Shakti, a non-government organization.Use of solar power will change lifestyle and socio-economic condition of the beneficiary households. They can watch television, use fans and bulbs and charge mobile phone sets.We can uses at least 4 to 5 energy blubs and two ceiling fans by a solar panel and it is being sold Taka about 18,000 to 25,000, said manager of Grameen Shakti,Panchagarh unit, Sarwar Hossain On the other hand, the solar power is also being used irrigation purposes.
